Pyramid Systems, Inc. is looking for highly motivated and talented student technologists to participate in our Summer 2023 Internship Program. Our program will be conducted in a hybrid format, with most activities being virtual but with optional social activities that will be in-person. This program offers an excellent opportunity for students seeking professional experience or have an interest in the fields of Software Development, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Application Modernization, Business Process Analysis and Reengineering, and Cloud Technologies.

What You'll Be Doing:

As an intern at Pyramid Systems, you will be working on one of two summer projects: 1) Data Engineering, including implementation of AI/ML technology; 2) Advancing the maturity of our Mainframe Modernization capabilities. Both programs will partner with our Pyramid Labs team and the Pyramid Analytics community of practice. Interns will work collaboratively on a team with other interns and will be guided and mentored by technical experts in the industry. Specifically, you will:

• Attend Scrum meetings and practice Agile methodologies, such as daily stand-ups, weekly sprint planning, and weekly retrospectives.
• Work with fellow summer interns on one or more projects (Data Engineering or Mainframe Modernization).
• Present the team’s results to the Pyramid Executive Team and at a company-wide lunch and learn session at the end of the program.
• Work as a team to develop a focused and visually compelling live demo/presentation.
• Work as a team to write thought pieces (e.g., blog posts) that capture highlights of the internship program and the technologies used.
• Attend other company meetings to learn about other areas of the business, such as business development, finance, and project management.

Timing & Logistics:

This is an 8-week paid internship that runs from June 12, 2023 to August 4, 2023. The working hours and location are flexible, and multiple internship opportunities are available.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Analytics, or a related field.
• Recent college graduates will also be considered.
• For those with interest in modernizing mainframe technologies into cloud technologies, experience or coursework in Mainframe/COBOL is highly preferred.
• For those interested in Data Engineering, AI/ML, mainframe, and/or cloud platforms, a strong data literacy and an understanding of the strategic value of data, and how to extract and communicate information is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with developers providing guidance and support.
• Desire to learn new skills, including self-study if needed, and ability to follow through on tasks to completion.
• True enjoyment of technology and the desire to contribute to a team’s output.
• Must be a self-starter and able to manage their time effectively to accommodate the work/life balance of virtual work.
