The Mainframe Modernization Programmer positions at Pyramid require a unique blend of skills that cover both mainframe and modern software development. Candidates should be able to analyze system or individual functional needs and develop modern software solutions and processes using mainframe modernization techniques such as re-hosting, re-factoring, and re-architecting. These roles require keen attention to detail and the ability to create self-documenting code that adheres to established standards. Candidates must have a deep understanding of legacy mainframe systems and technologies (e.g., COBOL, DB2, IMS, CICS, JCL, VSAM, etc.), modern software development tools and frameworks (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)), and specialized tools for analyzing the business logic embedded in mainframe systems.
