Pyramid Systems is seeking a Senior Database Developer to work alongside our custom application development teams outside of Union Station, Washington DC. The Senior Database Developer maintains, develops for, and implements databases and their policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of the data, performance stability, and scalability. We are seeking a senior database developer who has development and design experience.


  • Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements, and maintains database(s).
  • Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process.
  • Codes, tests, and implements physical database, applying knowledge of database management system.
  • Designs logical and physical databases (Transactional and Dimensional) or reviews description of changes to database design.
  • Analyses, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings; interprets results and/or makes recommendations.
  • Work with a team in an Agile Software Development Framework

Skills / Abilities: 

  • Experience with the following Oracle
  • Experience with the following administrative tools: Linux, Oracle EM, Shell/Batch Scripting.
  • Experience with the following tools: ER/Studio, Shell/Batch Scripting, and SQL Developer.
  • Ability to write SQL code and test it. 
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server is a plus.


  • US Citizenship Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or specialized technical training of equivalent length
  • 7 - 10+ years of experience in Data/Databases
  • Development Experience in SQL and PL/SQL Programming in Oracle
  • Exp with creating Tables, Views, Indexes and Sequences
  • Develop PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers
  • Experience in designing data models, database Schema creation and management
  • Experience with Performance Tuning
  • ETL experience and familiarity with ETL tools
