Overview:

Pyramid is actively looking for a hands-on Cloud Security Architect or senior engineer to support a large-scale modernization initiative to help design and implement required security controls and operationalize security processes in an AWS Cloud infrastructure. This person must have an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of federal government security trends and cybersecurity methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the security architecture for applications deployed to AWS
  • Review security architecture for compliance and ensure required security controls are fully addressed
  • Support NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) process including the development of required security documentation
  • Support Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) process and diligently work towards securing Authority to Operate (ATOs)
  • Support security testing and vulnerability scans and track issues and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAMs)
  • Interface with cloud and development engineers to ensure proper application of security best practices
  • Proactively implement mechanisms and controls to improve overall security posture
  • Perform corporate duties such as solution/proposal development and support recruiting efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or software engineering
  • 12+ years of overall experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in information technology security, with a record of successful delivery of IT security assessment and deliverables
  • Prior experience developing Security Plans, Contingency Plans and similar documentation as an individual/team leader and technical contributor
  • Prior experience working as a technical lead communicating and collaborating with federal clients
  • Strong understanding of FISMA, NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53A Rev4 and related
  • Hands-on experience supporting security configuration, assessment and accreditation of applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience in a hands-on role supporting technical security and compliance efforts including technical scan, audits and similar
  • Provide innovative solution-oriented leadership for security solutions across various software applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
