    Pyramid is looking for a dynamic, innovative, business development manager to directly support Pyramid’s Federal Civilian portfolio, specializing in financial and regulatory customers at our Fairfax, VA location.  Reporting to the SVP, Chief Growth Officer, this highly visible position will work with the most senior managers across Pyramid to develop strategy and drive business growth.

    Responsibilities

    Business Development

    • Assists in development and execution of strategic growth plan for this account, including market and competitive analysis and strategic business planning
    • Identifies and generates new opportunity leads, maintaining a priority-focused opportunity pipeline
    • Coordinates and collaborates with other key stakeholders including technology, proposals, contracts, and service delivery organizations
    • Drives opportunity through business development lifecycle, from identification through established gate review process
    • Assesses competition to determine opportunity landscape
    • Forms teams to increase win probability as necessary

    Proposal Development

    • Collaborates with Proposal Center to create compelling, differentiated proposals
    • Supports internal proposal reviews as well as solution workshops; may serve as “Voice of Customer” in key reviews
    • Supports RFI and customer technology demos in collaboration with proposal center and Pyramid Labs

    Internal Relationship Management

    • Works closely and proactively with operations, contracts, and proposal staff across entire BD lifecycle to initiative and growth Pyramid’s portfolio of business
    • Works proactively with Pyramid’s technology office and Pyramid Labs to create customer-specific strategies
    • Collaborates with marketing department to strategic position Pyramid in the marketplace

    External Relationship Management

    • Meets with existing and potential customers to understand our customers’ needs, budgets, and challenges
    • Develops new, and manages existing, partnerships with other Federal contractors

    Technology

    • Knowledge on IT processes and technologies relevant to customer domain, including key tool vendors

    Familiarity with key IT initiatives including agile, cloud, IT modernization, cybersecurity, data analytics, etc.

    Qualifications

    Candidate should have broad experience across full BD lifecycle. Experience in translating strategy into a qualified pipeline, balancing near-term/tactical and long-term/strategic opportunities. Professional training in Sales, BD, or Capture highly desired.

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10 years of business development experience in the Federal IT Market, with 5 years specialized in Federal Civilian market.
    • Demonstrated successful pipeline development and management experience
    • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience with customer relationship management and opportunity tracking tools/approaches
    • Understanding of a variety of contract types including cost plus, fixed price, award fee, and performance-based contracting are key.
    • Familiarity with major acquisition strategies and contract vehicles
