  • Overview

    Pyramid Systems Inc. is looking for a passionate Program Manager that will be responsible for delivering Agile projects and driving organic growth in support of our various Federal Government contracts. As a Program Manager with a strong analytical background, you will lead the team through the entire delivery lifecycle including requirements gathering and backlog grooming. You will evaluate solutions, assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and help balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You will be a key member of the team and a key reason for its eventual success. We are looking for someone who is passionate about planning and executing, and can boldly lead happy, healthy teams in a fast paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage complete lifecycle for Software development projects in a Federal Government contracting environment.
    • Lead requirements gathering and backlog grooming sessions.
    • Understand and manage stakeholder needs and priorities to ensure the needs are translated into accurate requirements, they are prioritized in  to appropriate releases, and delivery meets business demands.
    • Author various project documents such as Project Charter, Risk Management plan, etc.
    • Develop and maintain the project plan and staffing plan according to customer requirements.
    • Work across different technologies spanning various platforms.
    • Work with multiple teams and resources including User Experience, System Architecture, User Interface Design and Development, System Development, Performance Engineering, Testing, Transition, and IT Operations and get them to march towards a common goal.
    • Provide timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues
    • Maintain meticulous records of project and program financials, issues, risks, decisions, schedules.
    • Provide thought leadership and recommendations to management based on best practices and experience working in environments.
    • Support business development, proposal activities, and white papers as necessary to promote Pyramid, identify new opportunities, and win.
    • Provide relevant job related content in support of proposal efforts as required.
    • Potentially lead and drive organic growth within a federal agency. 

    Qualifications

    • U.S. Citizenship Required
    • Excellent client relationship and management skills
    • Strong communication, visual presentation, and analytical skills are a must
    • Candidates must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance
    • Experience managing across the full lifecycle for software development projects. Experience with Agile and DevOps preferred.
    • Self-Motivated, Proactive, Organized, and Dependable
    • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities
    • Experience with project manager functions such as Estimation, Scope Management, Scheduling, Issue/Risk Management, etc.
    • Good with managing requirements including eliciting, documenting, reviewing, and managing changing requirements
    • Background and experience with technology, solutions development, applications maintenance, databases, networks, cybersecurity
    • Account management, business development, capture management, proposal writing, and client engagement skills
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

    Business Skills and Experience

    • 5+ years of Project Management Experience in a federal IT environment. 
    • Strong skills to effectively interface with client executives and multi-disciplined development.
    • Demonstrated consulting skills, including client relationships and small team facilitation.
    • General understanding of the business environment, models, and motivations.

    Desired Skills:

    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
    • 5+ years of successful organic growth experience.
    • Experience and knowledge of Federal Government Contracting principles, deliverables, IDIQs / BPAs from a delivery operations perspective.
    • Successful experience leading or making significant contributions to proposals in the Federal IT industry.
