    The Proposal Director will lead Pyramid’s Proposal Center, overseeing the full range of proposal-related work for a growing small business in the federal information technology market. You will work closely with the Director of Business Development, capture managers, and the full range of company staff in leading and overseeing the development and submission of winning proposals. You will supervise a Proposal Coordinator as part of your work. You must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills, editing abilities, and superior attention to detail. You must have enthusiasm for achieving results in a dynamic work environment, often involving simultaneous proposals and firm deadlines. You must also possess the flexibility to work occasional long hours, or during weekends, if required by government deadlines or proposal circumstances.

    • Leads and oversees the end-to-end proposal development process.
    • Maintains and refines Pyramid’s Proposal Center processes.
    • Maintains the company’s repository of past proposals, past performance information, and other proposal-related items.
    • Analyzes Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to extract government requirements and create Requirements Driven Outlines and compliance matrices.
    • Develops proposal plans and production schedules.
    • Prepares for and leads proposal kick-off meetings and daily/regular proposal stand-up meetings with proposal staff.
    • Works with capture managers and proposal members to identify and document win themes, technical solutions, management solutions, and related material for inclusion proposals.
    • Provides direct guidance to, and supervision of, team members assigned to write proposal content to ensure development of compliant and compelling proposals.
    • Oversees and provides direction to the work of subcontractors during the proposal process.
    • Oversees the development of graphic content for proposal efforts.
    • Interviews company staff to capture technical, management, or related material, and uses writing skills to insert content into a proposal. As needed, schedules and facilitates solution design meetings with members of the technical team.
    • Assists capture managers to develop proposal-related questions for submittal to customers.
    • Works with capture managers to prepare for and execute Color Team reviews.
    • Assists in developing PowerPoint or other reports for review with the leadership team on win/capture strategy.
    • Leads and is responsible for the proposal production process, maintaining version control in highly complex collaborative environment.
    • Performs market, client, and competitive research using federal market research tools to help the company position and prepare for formal proposal efforts.
    • Leads or assists in the production and submittal of Requests for Information (RFI).
    • Suggests new processes for improving business development functions.
    • Develops marketing materials and participates in marketing or related events.
    • Experience leading a team of proposal resources and handling all color reviews.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Professional training (e.g., Shipley coursework) required; experience can substitute for certifications. Professional program management association certifications are a plus.
    • Coursework or other exposure to information technologies and processes.
    • Formal training or certification in proposal management is a plus, along with any experience in applying Agile-based techniques to proposal development.
    • Academic training in writing, and experience in writing business documents.
    • 8+ years of experience in the management of federal proposal development and proposal coordination. Experience in production of marketing communications documents related to the selling of information technology solutions is a plus.
    • Microsoft Office suite, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Word editing and formatting.
    • Exposure to, or basic familiarity with SharePoint.
    • Ability to produce exceptional work and coordinate others under deadlines or changing proposal circumstances.

     

    Education

    • BA/BS Degree is preferred.
