We are seeking a junior Java Developer to develop a web application. The Java Developer is responsible for design, development, testing, and implementation of new systems / projects and enhancements / maintenance using best practices. This will include coding, unit testing, using design patterns, learning new technologies, and becoming an expert in parts of the system. The junior Java Developer will work closely with the Developmental Lead and Business Analysts to ensure that all the development deliverables meet the requirements.



  • Demonstrates ability to do technical design and development by using J2EE technologies (JDK 1.6 and above) in a LINUX environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to use/learn frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, etc.
  • Experience with web services: SOAP and/or REST desired.
  • Demonstrates ability to use Eclipse IDE, JUnit, Ant and/or Maven.
  • Strong focus on unit testing code utilizing JUnit tests.
  • Experience with application servers such as Weblogic or JBOSS.
  • Experience with Databases including Oracle.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand notations done in modeling languages (i.e., UML) pertaining to use cases and class diagrams and be able to implement this through coding.
  • Good understanding of all parts of Software Engineering (e.g., Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing).
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and works well within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience troubleshooting systems issues.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the field or in a related area.
