Pyramid Systems is seeking a Director of Business Development focused on DHS and other Federal Programs. You will drive outcomes, lead capture and own the discovery, assessment, and winning of new business opportunities and achieving organic growth from existing programs in the federal market. The focus for this BD leader is on generating value from Pyramid’s contractor positions at various government agencies (i.e., DHS, USCIS, DOS, FAA) and our full suite of coveted Prime Vehicles (DHS EAGLE, ALLIANT, STARS II and others). The BD Director will work closely with technical, operations, contracts, and Proposal Center staff across the entire BD and capture management life cycle to initiate and grow Pyramid’s portfolio of federal business.


  • Identifies new opportunities and maintains a priority-focused, agency/vehicle-specific opportunity pipeline.
  • Teams with Pyramid’s Proposal Center to create and submit compliant, compelling proposals.
  • Creates and leads internal reviews and capture management/solution workshops.
  • Meets with existing and potential customers to understand their Information Technology (IT) needs and challenges
  • Works proactively with Pyramid’s technical, operations, and other BD staff to create opportunity strategies and shapes potential federal task orders in favor of Pyramid.
  • Responds to customer RFIs, drafts RFPs, assesses competition, and forms teams to increase win probability on opportunities.


  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the federal IT market with a significant portion of the time focused on winning business for a software services company.
  • Must have experience with the full range of BD and capture tasks and activities.
  • Must be knowledgeable on IT terms, processes, and the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Professional training or experience in business development and capture management strongly preferred
